Week 13
Frans’ Flyers (20-16)
Donderdag was het al koekenbak - de Bills (-6) werden gestopt door de Texans en het weekend begon slecht, Maar dan klaarde alles weer op voor Frans. De Jaguars (-2) met de hakken over de sloot tegen de Cardinals (hoe wist Vegas dat het zo close zou zijn???) en dan de Cowboys die na een 21-0 achterstand toch nog de winst binnenhaalden. Zo, na opnieuw een 2-1 week. zijn dit de tips voor week 13:
Pick 1 - 49ers (-6) @ Browns: Het gaat nu heel de week over hoe goed Shedeur Sanders het doet. Vergeet niet dat het tegen de Raiders was (factory of sadness) en dat hij in feite maar een soso game had. Als Purdy wat minder picks had gegooid dan wonnen ze tegen de Panthers met een straat verschil. De 49ers hebben een boatload met wapens op offense, neem maar de -6, ondanks Miles Garrett.
Pick 2 - Falcons (-2.5) @ Jets : Old man Cousins kwam na een tijdje op stoom voor Atlanta en ze zijn loaded op offense. De Jets hebben dit seizoen weggetrade voor volgend jaar, dus Falcons winnen met een FG moet lukken, toch?
Pick 3 - Saints @ Dolphins (-5.5) : Miami heeft de kans om uit de factory of sadness te kruipen en de Saints er nog dieper in te duwen. Als je ziet hoe Miami de Bills een pak slaag gaf, dan hoop ik dat mijn team me dit week een 3-0 record bezorgt.
Dirk’s Dares (15-18)
De Chiefs (-3.5) gunnen Dirk geen goeie week en modderen maar wat aan om dan in OT de spread niet te halen. Die under 50.5 bij Giants- Lions kon hij ook op zijn buik schrijven met crazy Jameis die tot 61 punten leidden. Toen Purdy 3 INT’s gooide dacht ik dat zijn 49ers pick het feestje volledig zou verstoren. Gelukkig herpakten zij zich en kon Dirk er nog een 1-2 uit slepen. Het wordt eens tijd voor een 3-0 week, misschien wel in week 13:
Texans +4.5 @ Colts: De Colts hebben in het 4e kwart van de wedstrijd tegen de Chiefs vergeten om hen uit te tellen voor de rest van het seizoen. Ze leken in de tweede helft echt aan bloedarmoede te lijden. En dat zou zich wel eens tegen de Texans kunnen doortrekken. De Texans zijn 3-0, klopten net met Davis Mills aan het roer de Bills en kunnen opnieuw rekenenen op CJ Stroud. Ze hebben ook de beste defense in de league, en de Chiefs hebben nu laten zien hoe je JT in toom moet houden. De Texans mogen deze match dus nog licht verliezen, en de bet is binnen.
49ers -5.5 @ Browns: Shedeur Sanders heeft zijn eerste start en zijn eerste win gehad. Tijd voor een setback; en wie beter dan Kyle Shanahan om de Browns een lesje te leren. De Niners zijn on a roll en kunnen maar beter zoveel mogelijk winnen om in het spoor van de Rams te blijven. Blow out alert langs alle kanten dus, de enige die daar iets aan kan gaan doen zal Myles Garrett zijn, maar 6 punten verschil moet lukken.
Eagles -7 vs Bears: Van setbacks en bounce backs gesproken: de ene moet weer met de W aanknopen na een ineenstorting tegen de Cowboys. De Bears daarentegen zijn stiekem naar de eerste plaats in de NFC North geslopen. Aan alle mooie liedjes komen een einde, en de opmars van de Bears moet maar gestopt worden door de Eagles die gebrand zijn op een goede prestatie. 7 punten is best stevig, maar de Eagles moeten maar eens Saquon bevrijden uit zijn kooi.
Toch grappig dat Frans & Dirk bijna elke week 1 overeenkomstige pick hebben. Niners dus deze week.

Frans’ Flyers (20-16)
Thursday was a bust – the Bills (-6) were stopped by the Texans and the weekend started badly. But then everything brightened up again for Frans. The Jaguars (-2) scraped by against the Cardinals (how did Vegas know it would be so close???) and then the Cowboys, who still managed to secure the win after a 21-0 deficit. So, after another 2-1 week, here are the tips for Week 13:
Pick 1 - 49ers (-6) @ Browns: The whole week is now about how well Shedeur Sanders is doing. Don’t forget that it was against the Raiders (factory of sadness) and that he actually had a so-so game. If Purdy had thrown fewer picks, they would have won against the Panthers by a mile. The 49ers have a boatload of weapons on offense, just take the -6, despite Miles Garrett.
Pick 2 - Falcons (-2.5) @ Jets: Old man Cousins eventually found his rhythm for Atlanta, and they are loaded on offense. The Jets have traded away assets this season for next year, so the Falcons winning by a FG should be achievable, right?
Pick 3 - Saints @ Dolphins (-5.5): Miami has a chance to crawl out of the factory of sadness and push the Saints even deeper into it. Seeing how Miami gave the Bills a beating, I hope my team gives me a 3-0 record this week.
Dirk’s Dares (15-18)
The Chiefs (-3.5) won’t grant Dirk a good week and just muddled around, only to fail to cover the spread in OT. He could also forget about that under 50.5 in Giants-Lions with crazy Jameis leading to 61 points. When Purdy threw 3 INTs, I thought his 49ers pick would completely ruin the party. Fortunately, they recovered, and Dirk still managed to salvage a 1-2. It’s about time for a 3-0 week, perhaps in Week 13:
Texans +4.5 @ Colts: The Colts forgot to count out the Chiefs for the rest of the season in the 4th quarter of that game. They genuinely seemed to suffer from anemia in the second half. And that might well carry over against the Texans. The Texans are 3-0, just beat the Bills with Davis Mills at the helm, and can count on CJ Stroud again. They also have the best defense in the league, and the Chiefs have now shown how to keep JT in check. The Texans can therefore still lose this game slightly, and the bet is in.
49ers -5.5 @ Browns: Shedeur Sanders has had his first start and his first win. Time for a setback; and who better than Kyle Shanahan to teach the Browns a lesson. The Niners are on a roll and had better win as much as possible to keep pace with the Rams. Blowout alert on all sides then, the only one who can do anything about it will be Myles Garrett, but a 6-point difference should be doable.
Eagles -7 vs Bears: Speaking of setbacks and bounce backs: one team needs to reconnect with the W after a collapse against the Cowboys. The Bears, on the other hand, have secretly crept up to first place in the NFC North. All beautiful songs must end, and the Bears’ advance should be stopped by the Eagles, who are eager for a good performance. 7 points is quite hefty, but the Eagles really need to unleash Saquon from his cage.
It is funny that Frans & Dirk have one corresponding pick almost every week. The Niners it is this week, then.
